Chandigarh: Officials from the Punjab Police stated that on Sunday, they conducted a special operation in which checkpoints were set up at 131 entry and exit locations across 10 inter-state border districts, inspecting over 6,000 cars and issuing challans to 366 violators.
Thirty-two automobiles were seized by the police, they reported.
Police reported seizing 70 kilogrammes of poppy husk, 1 kilogram of charas, 110 grammes of heroin, and one lakh rupees in drug money during the operation, in addition to registering 33 FIRs and arresting three proclaimed offenders.—Inputs from Agencies
